Babies Section: Resources and Links

There are some excellent sources of information available to parents of young babies and older children, offering both comprehensive local information and general advice. Don't forget that your 'blue book' is a good source of support and information, but here are some resources & links that many parents have found very useful.

Highly recommended are:

• Sydneys Child - available as a printed monthly magazine plus a website you can register with to receive information on many different aspects of parenting
• Raising Children Network - a government sponsored website with loads of useful advice
  • Raising Children Parenting in Pictures very useful visual guide to wrapping, bathing, changing and feeding your baby
• Huggies Babyclub - free advice, competitions plus free gifts & samples
• Wyeth Nutrition Mums Club sends out a free sipper cup and samples of its toddler formula milk plus advice sheets and recipes.
• Tresillian - Parent helpline 1800 637 575 (outside Sydney) or 02 9787 5255.
• Karitane Care Line - Support for parents 1800 677 961 (outside Sydney) or 02 9794 1852 (telephone counselling)
• North West Sydney Multiple Birth Association - Support and information for multiple birth families and expectant parents in the Blacktown & Baulkham Hills Government Areas. 
  • Affiliated with the Australian Multiple Birth Association at the national and state level. 
  • Offer social events including New Parent Morning Teas, a playgroup at Castle Hill and Expectant Parent Evenings. 
  • Produce a monthly newsletter for our members.
