Finding activities for keeping kids amused all the time is no easy feat. The following section aims to offer some useful suggestions for days when you are stuck for ideas. Home Indoor activities
- Dress ups
- Hide and seek - people or objects around the house or garden
- Making biscuits or a cake - child friendly recipes
- Home made or shop bought Play dough
- Craft activities
- Paper plate craft - monsters, tiger, butterfly
- Building craft using egg boxes, cereal boxes etc - Trains, robots, faces
- Painting eggs (boiled)
- Painting & finger painting
- Drawing & crayoning, colouring in (go to art & craft section for links to website with free templates, or buy a cheap colouring book)
- DVDs - Borrow from the library, or lend amongst friends
- Have a disco - dance and sing-a-long to CDs
- Puzzles - do a jigsaw puzzle
- Make collages of magazine cuttings, stickers
- Build a cubby house using sheets, cardboard box etc
- Have a tea party
- Build a car/house/train using Duplo/lego
- Play chase
- Play catch with ball
- Read aloud
- Blow bubbles with commercial or homemade bubble mixture (washing up detergent and an open shape to blow bubbles through )
