Feature: 8 Actvity Ideas for Kids
We have come up with some suggestions for having a great time with your children locally and not spending too much money this April and Easter holidays. We have done our best to put together some low cost activities - free in many cases - to keep your kids amused. - Local Pub Family Fun Days - usually held on Sundays
- Family Fun on Sundays at the Ettamogah Pub, Cnr Merriville and Windsor Rd's Free children's activities available all afternoon from midday inc pony rides, face painting, jumpy castle and playground area
- Kids Day Sunday at Brewhouse Marayong, 6 Cobham St, Marayong. Free face painting, clown and balloons, 12.30pm - 2.30pm
- Mean Fiddler, Windsor Rd, Rouse Hill. Kids activities on Sundays.
- The Train Shed & Craft Fair
- Location: Vicary's Winery, The Northern Rd, Luddenham Phone: (02) 4739 0199

- Located at the rear of Vicary's Winery, The Northern Road, 2km south of Luddenham, in western Sydney.
- Ride on model trains of Thomas The Tank Engine, Percy, James, Toby. Cost: $4 per child/ride (1 adult travels free)
- An indoor model train layout for the kids to drive.
- A shop & kiosk & picnic grounds
- On the Second Sunday of every month, Vicary's Winery holds regular Craft Fairs with a wide range of souvenirs and handicrafts.
- Free Face Painting all day at The Train Shed on Craft Fair days.

- Great community and school holiday programs, refer to website for costs, date and times of each activity. Range of programmed weekend and school holiday activities to suit all ages and a variety of interests - from forest trekking as a 'mini-ranger' for kids aged three to six-years of age, through to a rewarding bush regeneration program and an informative and enjoyable guided walk.

- Opening hours The Powerhouse Museum is currently open from 10.00am - 5.00pm every day except Christmas Day. (Extended opening times for some public and/or school holidays.) Tickets can always be purchased at the door.
- Some special exhibitions also offer pre-sale ticketing which helps avoid queues at peak periods.

- Open on the third Saturday afternoon of each month from 1.30pm - 4.30pm
- Near car park behind West Ryde shopping centre.
- Golden Ridge Animal Farm
- 686 Old Northen Rd Dural, Farm entrance in Wyoming Rd.
- Activities available: Handling baby chicks, ducklings and rabbits. Milk the cow. Go with the farmer for a walk around the farm to meet the larger animals and feed the sheep and goats. Bottle feed the baby lambs and kids.

- Rouse Hill Town Centre
- Variety of free play areas for children including:
- The Backyard playground - enclosed playarea with slide and variety of amusements for children.
- Musical play area next to the main food terrace.
- Small play at the back of the cafe precinct which houses Casa De Churros at the entrance (head towards the back near the entrance to public toilet area and it is on your left). Suitable for young children with soft blocks & hopscotch.
