The Hills Community Aid and Information Service Inc. is run by a voluntary community based committee. It seeks to:
- Identify changing needs in the community
- Empower people to meet needs
- Initiate and facilitate the development of services
- Provide information and referral

Information And Referral
Information, brochures and pamphlets about local and referral services. Volunteers are rostered at reception to answer enquiries both by phone, electronically and in person 9.30am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday.
Learning in the Hills
Offer a range of classes in recreation, health, hobbies, arts and crafts courses to adult learners during school terms. Centre is at Balcombe Heights Community Buildings, 92 Seven Hills Road, Baulkham Hills on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Contact 9639 7918 for more information during school term.
Community Development Workers
- 2 Generalist Community Development Workers - (DoCS - CSGP funded
- Multicultural worker (funded by Baulkham Hills Shire Council) - have a range of programs throughout the year.
Community Bus
Community Aid owns and operates a Toyota 22-seater air-conditioned bus, which is available for hire. Cost of bus hire is nominal and volunteer drivers are available.
The Hills Redcross Telecross Service
This is a joint service of the Australian Red Cross and The Hills Community Aid & Information Service Inc. The service trains volunteers who are rostered to make a phone call a day to people in the Hills who are alone or at risk. It is available on both a short and long term basis.
One To One Support Group
Volunteers visit people in their homes to provide companionship to people who are housebound.
Volunteer Work And Training
Information is available about volunteer work opportunities, placement and support. An introductory training program for volunteers is run at the beginning of each year. Baulkham Hills Shire Council assists financially with this program.
Tax Help
Australian Tax Office (ATO) trained volunteers assist people on low income with their tax returns.
Emergency Relief Program
Financial assistance is available to eligible clients on referral by Centrelink only.
Northwest No Interest Loans Scheme
Provides low-income applicants with flexible and affordable credit for the purchase of essential items.
