Wesley Dalmar

Foster carers are needed at Wesley Dalmar

Wesley Dalmar needs reliable caring people (single or couples) to share their homes with children in need of the stability of a family. We need carers in our Respite, Temporary and Permanent Care Programmes, for children of all ages but especially those who are school aged.

You can make a difference by:

  • offering a child a permanent home with your family
  • offering a child a short-term home while their future options are explored
  • offering a short respite placement in a safe and caring environment.

What is Wesley Dalmar?

Wesley Dalmar provides homes for children and young people who cannot live with their families by recruiting, training and supporting Foster Carers.

Wesley Dalmar Foster Carers are mature, child focused and committed to providing a safe, secure and loving environment for the children or young people in their care.

The quality of the service provided can best be summed up in a comment from a 5-year-old Central Coast Foster Care client when moving to a new placement, "Can I go to a Dalmar carer please... because they care more".

Wesley Dalmar is part of Wesley Mission and has been providing care for children and young people since 1893. We have grown through the many challenges and changes in the care of children and young people and now support 200 children and young people living in the care of approved foster families.

Many different people become carers. You can be a couple or single. The main qualities we look for in carers are a genuine interest in children and a willingness to have the child's best interests at heart.

What is expected of foster carers?

Wesley Dalmar foster carers are able to demonstrate the following abilities:

  • Use their own experiences of raising children to help with the tasks of fostering,
