Lisa Sthalekar
International Cricket Star
14 Degrees player
Lisa Sthalekar, the leading all-rounder in women's international cricket, who plays for Australia's Southern Stars, is managed by local sports marketing firm 14 Degrees.
About Lisa Born in Pune, India, and arriving in Australia with her family when she was four, Lisa lived in the Hills area for many years, attending Cherrybrook Primary and Technology High, finishing school in 1997 at Barker College, Hornsby.
Always determined, Lisa went on to complete an Arts Degree at University of Sydney, majoring in Psychology and Religious Studies.
Lisa's interest in cricket started when her father took her to a match at the SCG around six years old and she then joined her first mixed team, the Cherrybrook/West Pennant Hills Club, in the U10's, playing through to U16's. Gordon was the first women's team that Lisa joined when she was 12, playing there for over a decade and with Universities for three years.
Overcoming Setbacks Lisa's determination and cricket success has taken her all over the world, but she did have challenges in fighting her way to the top. The first ball ever bowled at practice with boys went into the wrong net; she was out for a golden duck in the first 1st Grade match that she played, and was dropped for the Final of her first National Junior Championships!

On top of all that, Lisa was also nominated by the ICC in 2008 as one of only six International Ambassadors for Cricket.
