Cars and Bras at The Brewery

  • Come and view heaps of cars & bikes, vintage and custom including the "Team Sheriff" Variety Bash cars with their pre 1974 holdens and valiant.
  • Fundraising event for Car 160 in the 2012 Variety Club Children's Charity Balmain to Bamaga Bash (road trip - raising funds for sick and disadvantaged children) and the Uplift Program (which collects second hand and new bras to send overseas to disadvantaged women).

Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer experience?

  • Do you want to reach out and assist newly arrived refugee children?
  • Are you available one afternoon between Mon- Thurs from 3.00pm-4.30pm?
  • SPARK is an after-school program that provides curriculum, social and cultural support to newly arrived refugee children and their families in selected primary schools in Western Sydney with significant numbers of refugee students.
  • We are looking for volunteers to join us in Term 2, 2012 to assist primary school aged children of refugee background with their homework and English skills and helping to run creative and recreational activities.
  • Volunteer profile: To participate in the program, volunteers do not need to have formal qualifications or experience working with children, however must have good spoken and written English skills to be able to assist someone else to improve their English, be enthusiastic, friendly, patient, and love working with children.
  • Time commitment: We are looking for volunteers to join us from Term 2, 2012 commencing 30 April 2012 for at least a six month commitment to the program.
  • Volunteers are required one afternoon a week between Monday to Thursday from 3.00pm to 4.30pm.
  • Benefits: By volunteering with SPARK, you will be part of a supportive team in a rewarding program that provides much needed assistance to refugee children and their families.
  • Locations: Monday: Auburn, Regents Park, Guildford Tuesday: Parramatta, Granville Wednesday: Pendle Hill, Auburn, Guildford Thursday: Girraween, Liverpool

Parramatta Community Justice Clinic - Free legal advice (eligibility criteria apply)

  • The Parramatta Community Justice Clinic (PCJC) provides free professional legal information, advice and referral services to the people of Western Sydney who cannot afford legal advice.
  • The PCJC provides information and advice on a range of areas of law including:
    • Neighbourhood disputes
    • Traffic offences
    • Family law matters
    • Criminal law in the local court
    • Motor vehicle accidents
    • Home building matters
    • Tenancy disputes
    • Client hours are 10am - 1 pm, Monday to Friday.
